Official Status

Għaqda Festa Esterna Madonna Ta’ Lourdes San Ġwann is officially enrolled as a Voluntary Organisation in Malta under Registration VO/1980, in terms of the Voluntary Organisations Act (Chapter 492 of the Laws of Malta). Our registered office is at Villa Bighi, Dawret Fra Giovanni Bichi, Il-Kalkara, Kalkara KKR 1320, Malta. The organisation is supervised by the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations and keeps its enrolment, statute and annual returns current.

Board & Committee Structure

The administrative committee is elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. All roles are voluntary and unremunerated.

Financial Integrity

We maintain meticulous financial records, annual reporting, and a transparent auditing process in full alignment with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (Malta). Income from donations, sponsorships, fundraising activities and grants is recorded against the activity it supports, and expenditure is authorised by the Treasurer together with the President or Vice-President.

• Annual financial statements and an activity report approved at the Annual General Meeting
• Dedicated organisational bank account; no cash held personally by any officer
• Dual authorisation for payments above committee-defined thresholds
• Written conflict-of-interest declarations by every committee member
• Donation and sponsorship receipts issued on request for all contributions
• Records retained for the periods required by Maltese law and available to the Commissioner

Non-Profit Verification Note

Għaqda Festa Esterna Madonna Ta’ Lourdes San Ġwann operates strictly on a non-profit basis. All revenues, donations, and grant funding are strictly dedicated to maintaining organisational infrastructure, executing community programmes, and funding charitable initiatives. No part of our income is distributed to members, officers or volunteers. In the event of dissolution, remaining assets are transferred to another Maltese voluntary organisation with comparable purposes, as provided by our statute.

Safeguarding & Code of Conduct

Volunteers working with minors or vulnerable adults do so under a written safeguarding policy with named responsible officers. Our code of conduct covers respectful behaviour, event safety, data protection, and the responsible use of organisational resources. Concerns can be reported confidentially to info@madonnalourdesmalta.org and are reviewed by the committee within ten working days.
